The MAR Backup Report Program will download an up to date PDF of the MAR report for your home nightly onto your local device. To be installed on a computer connected to a printer so that the MAR Report can be printed out if required.
Before you begin

The following are the minimum hardware and software requirements to install and run the MAR Backup Reports Client application. Please ensure that the device where you intend to install the application meets these requirements.

Device Credentials
You will need to have Administrator Access to the device to perform any actions to install, re-install, upgrade or troubleshoot the MAR Backup Reports Client application.
Before attempting any of the sections in this document or contacting our Support Team, please obtain the username and password for an account that has Administrator Access to the device on which you are working.
Application Account Credentials
The MAR Backup Reports Client application requires Application Account Credentials for each site to be entered during the installation. Please have this information ready before proceeding.
If you do not have this information, please contact our Support Team.
Installation Package
The link to download the installation package for the backup report will be provided to you, if you do not have this information, please contact our Support Team.
Save the installer to a location on the device where you will install the application. If you are performing the download on the device directly, the installation file will be in the “Downloads” Folder. You must obtain the following two files and place into the same the folder:
- MedecareClientService.msi
- setup.exe
Action to perform
This document contains sections for Installing and troubleshooting the MAR Backup Reports Client application. Review these bullet points and select the appropriate steps for the action you wish to perform:
Steps to perform the installation on a device that does not have the MAR Backup Reports Client application installed. Typically, you perform these steps on a brand new device or when you have never installed the application before.
You will perform these steps when troubleshooting an issue or if our Support Team has determined that a reinstallation of the application is necessary.

New Installation
Perform these steps for a new installation of the MAR Backup Reports Client application:
- Login to the device where you will perform the installation. You may use any account to login to the device, but we recommended that you use the account with administrator access. If you choose not to use an administrator account to login, you will still need the username and password for the administrator account to perform the installation as the Windows Operating System will request that password as needed
- Locate the folder where you downloaded the MAR Backup Reports Client Installer. The folder must contain the MedecareClientService.msi and setup.exe files
- Right-Click on the setup.exe file and select Run as administrator
If prompted, enter the username and password for the Administrator Account - On the Open File – Security Warning dialog, click on Run
- If the User Account Control dialog appears, click on Yes to accept the warning
- Wait for the installation to finish
- In the Report Client Service Configuration dialog, enter the User Name and Password for the Application Account you created earlier and click Login
- You will receive a message indicating that the service has started, click OK
- Click Close on the Installation Complete screen
- Verify that the most recent version of your Backup Report is in the C:\MARBackupReport Folder. If the report is missing, please see the Troubleshooting section
Troubleshooting
In cases where you have noticed that the application is not downloading your Backup Reports, you can check for errors and attempt to restart the application before contacting our Support Team.
All actions in the sections below require administrator access to the device. Ensure that you have the username and password for the administrator account before performing any troubleshooting steps.
Restart the Application
The MAR Backup Reports Client application uses a Windows Service to perform its tasks, restarting the service may resolve issues with the application:
- Click on Start, type Services in the Search field, right-click on the Services App and select Run as administrator.
If prompted, enter the username and password for an account with administrator access to the device - In the Services Application window, locate the MedecareClientService Service
- Click on the Stop Service button
If you receive an error stating that the service failed to stop, follow these steps:

- Open the Task Manager Application (Right-click on the Windows Taskbar and select Task Manager)
If prompted, enter the username and password for an account with administrator access to the device - Click on the Details Tab
- Locate the ReportsClientService.exe row, right-click on the row and select End Task
- Close the Task Manager Application and return to the Services Application window
- Click on the Refresh button in the Services Application window
- Open the Task Manager Application (Right-click on the Windows Taskbar and select Task Manager)
4. Click on the Start Service button
5. Check that the Status column shows “Running”
Reinstall the Application
Perform these steps to reinstall the MAR Backup Reports Client application when the application already exists on the device:
- Login to the device where you will perform the reinstallation. You may use any account to login to the device, but we recommended that you use the account with administrator access. If you choose not to use an administrator account to login, you will still need the username and password for the administrator account to perform the installation as the Windows Operating System will request that password as needed
- Locate the folder where you downloaded the MAR Backup Reports Client Installer. The folder must contain the MedecareClientService.msi and setup.exe files
- Right-Click on the setup.exe file and select Run as administrator
If prompted, enter the username and password for the Administrator Account - On the Open File – Security Warning dialog, click on Run
- If the User Account Control dialog appears, click on Yes to accept the warning
- In the Setup Wizard Welcome screen, select Remove Reports Client Service and click Finish
- If you receive a message stating that the Reports Client Service Files in Use, click Continue
- Wait for the installer to remove the application
- Click Close on the Installation Complete screen
- Perform the steps in the New Installation section to re-install the application
