MED e-care is pleased to announce the introduction of its newest security feature which allows access based on a specific hostname.
This feature is particularly useful for facilities which are using an internet service which does not provide them with a static IP address. Such users cannot implement our IP address based restriction
Navigate to Settings> Security> IP and Hostname Restriction
Select “Yes” and Save
Once you select yes, you can enter a host name which the user wants to exempt from restriction.
A valid hostname should fulfill the following criteria
- The host name should be a-z or A-Z or 0-9 and hyphen (-).
- The host name should be between 1 and 63 characters long
- The host name should not start or end with a hyphen(-)
- The last TLD (Top level domain) must be at least two characters and a maximum of 6 characters.
For example, in the image below, user has added the hostname “abc.xyz.org” as exempt from restriction
User can also add a user to be exempt from the restriction by clicking on Add User for Users Exempted from Restriction.
