In an event where you need to update or amend the medication inventory or stock amount, the On Hand amount of a medication may be changed in the following ways to reflect the correct level:
Please Note: If you change the on-hand amount directly without accounting for the medication in either Carried to Next Order or Destroyed Returned, this will show up directly in Unaccounted + or -.
- Destroyed Returned: If any medications are being destroyed/returned to pharmacy, enter this in the box labelled destroyed returned. Next, add a note explaining why you are changing the On Hand amount. Finally, click Update Quantity.
- Carried to Next Order: If you have received a repeat medication order from the pharmacy, you may see a figure in this box on Expired Orders. This means that the system has automatically managed the stock, meaning that any outstanding medication has been transferred to the Active order.
- Brought from Prior Order: You may notice that your stock level for a medication order is alerting that the inventory is low, enter the amount of stock you have received in this box to increase the on-hand amount
Every time you amend the stock you are always required to leave a note for auditing purposes. Once you have completed this, you can click 'Update Quantity'.
