This week's update is focused on the eMAR Module.
eMAR
High Alert Medication
The High Alert feature allows users to either:
a. Enforce a witness signature requirement during medication administration for medications outside of the home/facility's Controlled Drug witness signature settings.
b. Create a custom warning message that will be displayed when a medication is administered.
Using the High Alert functionality
When a medication is designated as High Alert, "High Alert Medication" will be displayed next to the medication name along with a double signature icon if Second Signature is configured.
Once the medication is signed as administered, one of two messages will be displayed depending on the home/facility settings.
- SINGLE USER VERIFICATION: A warning will pop up with either a default or custom message with an action to click “Confirm” required from the staff.
- SECOND SIGNATURE: A second signature pop up will display which requires a second signature from a different staff member.
How this is configured for each medication
The High Alert can be associated from three different screens. This high alert association is unique to each medication for each resident.
- ATM (Add to MAR Screen)
- Manage Orders
- Receive Orders (UK Clients and those using Receive Orders ONLY)
The new feature for High Alert Medications can only be associated at the home/facility level (it will not be associated through any pharmacy interfaces – it is the responsibility of the home's staff to configure this according to their internal policies and procedures)
