Question: Why a resident assessment is not qualified on any of the 35QI items?
Answer: The rule for 35QI qualification is based on the resident length of stay in the facility from the date of the admission. The resident has to have a minimum length of stay of 93 days from the ARD of the Admission to the ARD of the first Quarterly Assessment. In the screen above, this resident’s first quarterly assessment ARD was set to 92 days from the date of the Admission, which makes it 1 day short from being qualified on any of the 35QIs.
Note: when the software schedules the first quarterly assessment, it puts the 35QI rules into consideration; therefore, when user enter an ARD for the first quarterly assessment, either use the system schedule date as ARD; or count a minimum of 93 days from admission date.
