There are two ways to release a bed within the MED e-care software. In both cases, you will need to have the appropriate security role credentials to do so. If you do not, please contact your Facility Administrator to either give you the credentials, or to perform these tasks themselves.
This guide is to be used if:
- A bed has been put on hold for a resident that is not returning to the facility
- A bed is occupied by a resident that is no longer in the facility
**Before continuing, make sure to confirm that the resident occupying the bed is no longer in the facility**
1. If a bed has been put on hold for a resident that is not returning to your facility navigate here:
e-ADT > Information post > Bed On-Hold
From here you will see a list of beds which you can take off-hold by clicking on the 'Release Bed' button next to it.
**Note: If the bed you are looking for is not in the list, proceed to the next step*
2. Another way to release a bed is to go through Settings (which requires further access credentials set up by your Facility Administrator).
Navigate to:
Settings > e-ADT > Bed Administration
Once in this screen you will be able to see all beds set up in your facility. Find the bed you would like to release and click on 'Release' from the left hand side of the list.
In both cases above, please make absolute sure the bed you need to release is accurate.
